The Iowa Chinese in Agriculture (ICIA), a non-profit and volunteer-based 501(c)3 organization, was established in 2006. ICIA members consist of professionals in research, education, production, and business in agriculture across Iowa. ICIA’s mission is to provide a platform to serve our local communities and to organize Chinese culture related events/activities to improve member’s after-work life (and at-work life). ICIA also to foster a favorable environment for attracting, retaining, and motivating world  class agricultural professionals to work in Iowa.

Dear ICIA members:

To celebrate the traditional Chinese Spring Festival, ICIA is organizing a getting together event at Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet on New Year ’s Eve, Sunday, Feb 7th, 2016 .

ICIA will provide 红包 to members who attend this event at the following rate: $5/大人, $3/4-12岁小孩. ICIA will ONLY provide 红包 to who has pre-registered online. Each family/member is responsible to check out and pay your own dinner expense, plus tips and tax, before you leave the restaurant. ICIA will provide an attendee list to Hibachi Grill. Please make sure you sign your name after you have paid your bill.

Time: 5 pm to 8 pm, please arrive between 5 to 5:30 pm, and pick up your 红包 at your arriving

2014 Chinese New Year Gala – Call for talents PDF Print E-mail

2014 Chinese new year, The Year of Horse, is approaching us. The ICIA-ICLS joint Chinese New Year Gala will be held at Indian Hills Junior High School on Saturday, February 1, 2014. ICIA is asking for your contributions to this event, one of the biggest events each year. Now, it is time to show your talent. Please contact Terry Hu or Ning Wang before Christmas if you 1) would like to perform - dancing, singing, talk show, instrument or anything else on our stage; 2) have any new ideas about performance; 3) find any interesting performance online which could be performed on our stage; 4) know anyone who has a performance talent. ICIA tries to get as many members involved as possible in this event (new members in particular). Thank you for your contributions and we look forward to hearing your ideas, suggestions, and engagements. Don’t wait!

 
ICIA members participated in the 2013 Diversity Networks Table Tennis Tournament in Johnston PDF Print E-mail

More than thirty Pioneer ICIA members participated in 2013 Pioneer Diversity Network Table Tennis Tournament held in Johnston from Sept. 30th to Oct. 4th, 2013. Samuel Qi won the intermediate single champion. Zhuang Zuo, Dongsheng Feng/Yang Wang, and Jian Jin won the third place in advanced single, advanced double, and intermediate single competitions, respectively. Congratulations to them and all other participants for their achievement in the competitions.
